MY ROADMAP
Dr. Janine McKay (Dr. J) is a Chiropractor with sub-specialities in functional medicine, sports science, acupuncture and strength + conditioning with over 20 years of experience in the health and wellness industry.
Dr. J’s practice approach provides clients and patients with new perspectives, provocative insights and strategic roadmaps to live a pain-free, healthy life. Her signature approach to live pain free and achieve optimal health is largely focused on education and empowerment. The human body can sometimes seem complex, but Dr. J will deconstruct and distill the complexities of the human body by redefining the basics and using examples and analogies that can be well understood and related to. Remember, you don’t know what you don’t know! When you understand the basics and “the Why” are you doing something, long-term endeavors are achievable, sustainable and transformations can be achieved. She believes that radical healing can occur when we make that choice and acknowledge and accept full accountability for our actions. We are in charge of our own health, many of the decisions we make on a daily basis have an impact on the quality of our life. By taking action and making positive choices, large and small, we can help ensure a lifetime of functional wellness.
Dr. J provides a new level of intimacy with people through the functional medicine lens and dynamic conversation. She relies on proven evidence-based tools, methodologies and good clinical practice while taking into account your bio-individuality. It is your story, not your injury and not your symptom. It is an experience and a journey that includes “the pain” or “the symptom” and includes everything from your body and extremities to your individual biochemistry to your unique microbiome to your mind. You are whole and we need to take a deeper dive into the sum of all your parts.
How did I end up so passionate about practicing like this?
Dr. J’s earthy, level-headed personality was cultivated from her own health challenges and personal injuries. Being a patient many times over and seeing so many patients that were experiencing pain and other symptoms that were told, “there is nothing wrong” made her question traditional systems. Have you ever been told its just stress, you are fine, come back in a few months, lose weight etc?
Dr. J’s Private Practice
Dr. J’s private practice includes assessments, treatments and programs that focus on actionable insights towards moving well, feeing well, eating well and being well. She utilizes many tools in manual therapy, exercise prescription, acupuncture, health coaching and functional medicine. From pain to hormones to gut health. She works with people who are in pain, suffered an injury or were simply told they are “normal” but don’t feel like themselves and feel off. Dr. J will provide high-quality and relevant information cutting through all the noise, trends, fads and jibber-jabber to provide you the most up-to-date and relevant information that best serves you.
An appointment with Dr. J may include a thorough medical history and information gathering session to attain all the information that may help our detective work. She utilizes a variety of functional medicine testing, radiology imaging, orthopedic testing, functional movement assessments and hands on assessments to determine your drivers to dis-ease, injury or your state of wellness.
Dr. J truly loves the lifestyle she shares with her patients. She loves to experiment and try new things and utilizes all sorts of game-changing biohacks. She is so grateful to share this journey with all of you. She is here to serve you and provide you with up-to-date education. Stay tuned!
